Commercial Fire Alarms

Helping you respond to clear and present danger

At Commercial Fire Protection, we’re here to help you with every aspect of fire safety compliance in your building. This includes the alarm systems that enable you to detect and announce fires early, gaining valuable time for occupants to escape and the emergency service to respond.

Fire alarms are a legal requirement in commercial buildings, under the Fire Safety Order 2005. We help you meet all the conditions of this legislation – not only the obligation to have an ‘appropriate fire detection system’, but also one that is ‘maintained at all times’, and serviced by a competent person at least every six months.

As members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and the Institution of Fire Engineers, our active fire protection team partners with you to ensure your alarms meet the correct requirements and are kept in good working order.

Alarms fit for purpose

Your fire alarm requirements depend on the outcomes of your Fire Risk Assessment (FRA), and play a key role in your Fire Emergency Evacuation Plan (FEEP). A fire alarm system that is correctly installed and performs properly will help keep you on the right side of compliance.

Our experienced fire engineers will:

  • Determine the category of alarm you need, based on the nature of your premises, its contents and the level of risk.
  • Carry out any remedial work to your fire alarm and detection system, in accordance with the Fire Safety Order 2005.
  • Provide all the necessary documentation you need to prove fire safety compliance.
  • Advise on weekly fire alarm testing, including written test certificates, to ensure you continue to fulfil your legal responsibilities.
  • Carry out routine fire alarm inspections at least every six months, in accordance with British Standard BS 5839.

Why choose CFP for your fire alarm systems?

With over 40 years’ experience in the industry, our team is skilled in all aspects of fire protection compliance, so we’ll ensure your fire alarm systems work seamlessly with other forms of fire protection to maximise safety and evidence your compliance.

This also covers passive fire protection (fire stopping, fire door solutions, and compartmentation), which builds fire defences into your building’s partitions, ceilings, doors, and other internal features, working alongside alarm and detection systems to reduce the physical impact of fire, and safeguard your building’s occupants.

It’s the combination of these approaches that makes us what we’re so proud to be –
