Fire door surveys must be carried out by someone who has appropriate knowledge and understanding of current fire legislation and best practices. At Commercial Fire Protection, our team is qualified and competent in:

  • BS 8214: 2016 (British Standards) – the code of practice for fire door assemblies.
  • Component assessment – for example, if there are any alterations or damage that might affect the door’s glazing apertures, air transfer grille, or other vital components.
  • Integrity and fit evaluation – for example, if there are any gaps around the door frame, or seals, or hinges are not properly installed.
  • Closure check – Our team thoroughly checks that the door closes completely around the entire frame, and that any door closers function correctly.
  • Visual verification, to establish that there is no damage owing to regular wear and tear or other reasons, to the door or frame.
